02.
Arbitration
Arbitration is simply a form of dispute resolution. It is the private determination of a dispute by an independent, private judge or arbitrator. In some legal situations, the parties have agreed to resolve issues through arbitration. If your legal matter must proceed through arbitration rather than the court system, an arbitrator or panel of arbitrators will hear the facts of your case and will decide which party prevails. Atty. Gray serves as a private arbitrator in superior court cases in North Carolina, as well as cases administered through the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
03.
Mediation
Mediation is also a form of dispute resolution. Through mediation, the parties and their attorneys meet in a neutral environment and discuss settlement. There is no judge involved. During mediation, the parties typically exchange monetary settlement offers in an effort to prevent or end a legal matter. Atty. Gray serves as a Certified Mediator approved to mediate state and federal court cases.
